Spokane Candidate Forum 2026 with Prosecutor and Congressional Candidates

Hear the candidates. Then make your choice.
6:00 PM at the Spokane Public Library Central Branch, moderated by Brandon Jones of KREM 2 News.
The Spokane Candidate Forum 2026 takes place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 6 PM at the Spokane Public Library Central Branch, hosted by NAACP Spokane. This second forum of the season features candidates for Spokane County Prosecutor and for Congress, with KREM 2 News anchor Brandon Jones moderating. The NAACP State Area Conference of Alaska, Oregon and Washington is proud to share this event with voters across Eastern Washington.
Why This Forum Matters
Local prosecutors decide who is charged, what sentences are sought and how the justice system treats Black and brown residents. Congressional representatives shape federal civil rights enforcement, voting protections and funding for Eastern Washington communities. Hearing from these candidates directly, with equal time for each, lets voters decide for themselves before ballots are due.
NAACP Spokane is a nonpartisan organization. It does not endorse or oppose any candidate, and every candidate receives the same time and opportunity to speak. That commitment protects the integrity of the forum and the nonprofit status of the branch, and it keeps the focus on the candidates’ own answers.

Audience Guidelines
To keep the forum fair, attendees are asked not to campaign, lobby or protest inside the event. That includes wearing clothing or accessories that endorse a candidate. Please keep quiet during answers so every candidate can be heard. If talking, heckling or shouting disrupts a candidate, the moderator will stop the forum and pause the clock so that candidates get the same opportunity to speak.
Because a sitting member of Congress will attend, members of the Spokane Police Department will be in the area. Anyone with concerns about safety or police presence should approach a Peacekeeper during the event.
Plan Your Visit
The lot will close during the event and vehicles can be locked in. Use nearby downtown Spokane parking or transit instead.
The Central Library is in the heart of downtown at 906 W. Main Ave. Allow extra time for screening at the door so you are seated before the forum begins at 6 PM.
