Access to quality healthcare should never depend on your zip code, your income, or the color of your skin. The NAACP Health Fair 2026 is a direct response to the health equity gaps that continue to impact Black and BIPOC communities across Oregon. From free screenings to life-saving training, this event delivers real resources to people who need them most.

The NAACP Eugene-Springfield Branch has long been a champion of health equity in Lane County. The NAACP Health Fair 2026 continues that tradition, bringing together community partners, healthcare providers, and advocates to create a day of access, education, and empowerment.

Health fairs like this one are part of a broader movement to bring preventive care into communities that have historically been underserved by the traditional healthcare system. Research consistently shows that Black and BIPOC communities face higher rates of chronic illness, delayed diagnoses, and reduced access to specialists — not because of biology, but because of systemic barriers built over generations. The NAACP Health Fair 2026 is one small but meaningful step toward dismantling those barriers right here in Lane County.

The Stop the Bleed training is one of the most impactful offerings at the NAACP Health Fair 2026. In just 45 minutes, participants learn how to control life-threatening bleeding in emergency situations — a skill that can save a life before first responders arrive. This training is free, open to all, and requires no prior medical experience.

The free dental and cancer screening vans address two of the most significant barriers to preventive care in underserved communities: cost and access. Many BIPOC community members delay or forgo screenings due to lack of insurance or financial barriers. The NAACP Health Fair 2026 removes those barriers entirely for one day — no insurance required, no cost, no judgment.

For families, the Diaper Bank and community outreach booths provide additional layers of support, connecting attendees with local resources that extend well beyond the event itself.
