BIPOC Community Dinner Eugene November 2026

A Thanksgiving Week Table for Our Community.
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lavender Network, 1590 Willamette Street in Eugene. Free to attend.
The BIPOC Community Dinner Eugene November 2026 is Tuesday, November 24, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the Lavender Network, 1590 Willamette Street in Eugene. Two days before Thanksgiving, the NAACP Eugene-Springfield BIPOC Community Health Workers Program and HIV Alliance invite Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other community members of color to sit down together for a free meal. Come hungry, bring a friend and meet the neighbors and health workers who make this monthly gathering feel like home.
A Season of Gratitude, Shared Over a Meal
November is a month for giving thanks, and few things say it better than a shared table. The monthly BIPOC Community Dinner gives people of color in Eugene and Springfield a steady, welcoming place to gather, catch up and build the relationships that make it easier to ask for help when life gets hard. Holding the November dinner during Thanksgiving week makes it a natural moment to slow down, reconnect and celebrate the many food traditions that families across Lane County bring to the table.
The dinner is part of the BIPOC Community Health Worker Program, a partnership between the NAACP Eugene-Springfield Branch and HIV Alliance. The program began by helping community members get medical care during the COVID shutdown, and it still works every day on the barriers and social conditions that shape health. Community health workers with lived experience and cultural knowledge will be at the dinner to visit with guests, answer questions and point people toward help.
Free and open to the community. Share a meal with neighbors at the Lavender Network before the holiday.
Help With Health Coverage and Care
Signing up for the Oregon Health Plan, finding a doctor or getting a ride to an appointment can take more time and paperwork than most families have to spare, especially around the holidays. The branch’s community health workers help with exactly those steps. At the BIPOC Community Dinner Eugene November 2026, guests can ask about enrollment in OHP, OHP Bridge and marketplace coverage, transportation to medical visits, coordination with social services and referrals for behavioral health and substance use treatment.
The program serves adults 18 and older who identify as Black, Indigenous or a person of color and live in Lane County. Anyone interested can talk with a health worker at the dinner or fill out the interest form on the branch website.

More Ways to Connect With the Branch This Month
The dinner is one of several November gatherings run by the NAACP Eugene-Springfield Branch. The branch holds its monthly General Meeting on Wednesday, November 18, hosts Cultural Story Time for families on Saturday, November 21, and keeps its weekly BIPOC Food Pantry running for more than 80 families. Volunteers are always welcome to help bag food or answer phones at the branch office in the Clear Lake Community Center.
Health is shaped by far more than what happens in a clinic. Trusted relationships, social connection and knowing where to turn all affect whether people get the care they need. For BIPOC residents in a region where communities of color are often small and spread out, a reliable monthly dinner reduces isolation and builds trust between neighbors and the health workers who serve them. The BIPOC Community Dinner Eugene November 2026 puts that idea into practice one plate at a time.
