Greater Everett MLK Community Celebration 2026 Building the Dream and Work
The Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee and the Snohomish County NAACP invite the Pacific Northwest community to the 2026 Greater Everett Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration. This year’s powerful theme, “Building Community: The Dream & The Work,” calls us to move beyond reflection and into collective action. Through a multi-day experience, we honor the legacy of Dr. King while strengthening the bonds of our local community.

The celebration begins Sunday, January 18th, with a Worship Experience at First Presbyterian Church. On Monday, the community will gather at Everett Memorial Stadium for a March starting at 11:00 AM, culminating in a Rally at the VOAWW Carl Gipson Center. We are honored to feature keynote speaker Dr. Yvonne Terrell-Powell of Edmonds College and the Snohomish County NAACP, along with insights from NAACP Vice President Monica Meadows. The event also continues the legacy of the Honorable Judge Eric Lucas through the Prodigies for Peace Art and Essay Contest.
